Although not one of
our direct activities, SHACOG established what is now the SHACOG Federal
Credit Union. Originally a State chartered organization, it was
subsequently converted to a Federal charter. The Credit Union, which
now enjoys over 600 members and assets in excess of $1,000,000.00 is
housed in the SHACOG offices. Its activities, ranging from share
accounts and Christmas clubs to personal loans and auto loans, also
encompass two other Allegheny County Councils of Governments. The
Credit Union, although functioning under the SHACOG umbrella, is
governed by its own independent Board of Directors and is operated daily
by its own manager. |
